CRG Discipleship Statement of Faith
What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17). It is our final guide for faith and life and is to be read with a heart to trust and obey God.
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory (Matthew 28:19). God is personal, present, and relational, inviting us into daily fellowship with Him.
God the Father
We believe God the Father is the Creator of all things and sovereign over all (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:19). He is infinitely good, wise, and faithful, desiring a close relationship with His children.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man (John 1:1,14). He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return in power and glory (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11).
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, convicting of sin, guiding into truth, and empowering for holy living and witness (John 14:26; Galatians 5:16–25). He enables us to hear God’s voice and respond in real-time relationship.
Humanity and Sin
We believe all people are created in God’s image but are separated from Him by sin (Romans 3:23). Apart from Christ, we are spiritually lost and unable to save ourselves.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). It involves repentance, forgiveness of sin, spiritual rebirth, and a new life in Christ.
Conversational Relationship with God
We believe God desires an ongoing, interactive relationship with every believer—one marked by frequent, honest, and loving conversation. Prayer is not merely a duty but a dialogue, and every moment can be an opportunity to enjoy His presence, hear His voice, and respond in faith (Revelation 3:20; John 10:27).
The Practices of Conversational Discipleship
We believe that a conversational relationship with God is cultivated through simple, Spirit-led practices: talking with God, listening to His voice, asking honest questions, telling others about Him, and representing Him in daily life. These practices draw us into deeper intimacy with Him and transform us from the inside out (John 15:4–5; 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18).
Discipleship
We believe a disciple is someone who follows Jesus by loving Him, obeying His Word, and engaging in ongoing relationship with Him (Luke 9:23; John 15:5). The Christian life is marked by daily surrender and spiritual growth.
Disciple-Making
We believe the Great Commission calls every believer to make disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28:19–20). Disciple-making happens best through intentional, Spirit-led relationships that reflect the life and method of Jesus.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers (1 Corinthians 12:12–13). It exists to glorify God through worship, teaching, fellowship, and reaching the world with the gospel.
